IQ Netzwerk Sachsen-Anhalt
IQ Netzwerk Sachsen-Anhalt (coordinated by Caritas) is a part of the nationwide subsidy program "Integration durch Qualifizierung" (IQ). Since 2005, this program has worked toward the goal of improving labor market access for people with migrant backgrounds. One focal point is that professional credentials obtained in foreign countries, regardless of their nominal title, should more frequently lead to employment commensurate with the employee's level of education.
The perception of migrants is often negative. It is not merely for the sake of cultural diversity that it's important to reduce discrimination and make note of migrants' potential to contribute, but also in order to successfully integrate those people into the domestic labor market. Building and maintaining intercultural competence among labor market stakeholders has therefore been a consistent goal of the IQ subsidy program.
Fields of Action
People with professional credentials acquired abroad who are confronted with questions about credential recognition and qualifications can, after the requisite analysis, obtain orientation and information on current procedural paths, requirements for recognition, and the corresponding procedural stakeholders (pilot function).
The Saxony-Anhalt labor network focuses on:
- Consultation
- Qualification
- Intercultural orientation and openness, anti-discrimination measures, and diversity
At the "Anerkennungs- und Qualifizierungsberatung" IQ service points, advice-seekers can obtain competent consultation on supplemental qualification acquisition and remediation in order to receive full recognition of their credentials and find employment commensurate with their qualifications.
The "Qualifizierung im Kontext des Anerkennungsgesetzes" IQ service pointsare responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing professional qualification measures for people with foreign credentials. With such qualifications, the path to full recognition of preexisting credentials and adequate integration to labor markets is levelled.
The "Interkulturelle Orientierung / Öffnung, Antidiskriminierung und Diversity" IQ service points organize the establishment and further development of labor market stakeholders' intercultural competence. The primary beneficiaries of such measures are job centers, government employment offices, local governments, and small- and medium-sized businesses (KMU).
The program is subsidized with funds provided by the Federal Ministry for Labor and Social Services (BMAS) and the European Social Fund (ESF). The program's implementation partners are the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) and the Federal Agency for Employment (BA).
